I have the C5-based Baer GT setup and they are very tight with my cheap-o 18" coys. I had to use a flush valve stem to clear the caliper. You may find a 17" wheel with a front facing valve stem that will work, but you will have investigate it with templates from the wheel company or the experience of someone who has done it, cause it's gonna be tight.
You can also print the brake templates off of
www.kore3.com and use them to check various wheels for clearance.
