Those are great cars, sorry to hear it. I had a similar situation on Labor Day. Went for a little spin in my wife's 62 Corvette, it was a perfect So. Cal day, sunny, chicks everywhere, just right. I watched the whole thing. Four young guys in a ricer sedan, checking out some chick (and I can feel for them, she caught my eyes too), giggling, high-fiving, you name it, right up until they hit me. Right on PCH, in the middle of a traffic jam. Wiped out their car, whole front end. Hurt the 62 pretty bad, but not as nasty in appearance as you might think, it all went into the frame (great...). Four on one isn't good odds, but I am still surprised that I was restrained. No one got hurt, thankfully. I can't tell you how many people just looked at the mess and said "what an absolute shame."
Just be glad that you or anyone else didn't get hurt. Though special, cars are just that, they are just cars. They can be fixed, or replaced. I will say, I have a much bigger tendancy to watch my rear mirror now though.
