In other news, I cracked the stock oil pan on the zz502 on a manhole cover here in Silver Lake. The streets are horrible here. Unfortunately after reworking the headers, the oil pan became the lowest point on the car. I noticed the oil while filling my tires with air, and got the car home before it even dropped pressure. It dumped out 6-7 quarts in a pan in my garage.
This is the second time I've cracked a pan on this car in Silver Lake. The streets suck and my car is too low. This was the first time:
I just received a Milodon Road Racing Pan, which is lower profile than the stock pan by 2" inches. I never experienced any oil pressure issues at the track with the stock pan, but I figured I might as well do the right thing and go with a road race pan.

The hot tip for road racing due to trap door baffle system is to provide adequate oil supply on left & right turns. Proven highly effective in SCCA and other competition. Also great for very low Camaro, Chevelles and Covette in all applications including road race to drag race. Fits Mark IV 396-454 and stroker Big Blocks. With most aluminum rods, pan will fit up to a 41/2" stroke without modification.

I'll get the new pan on, and then its time to get that spoiler on there and attend a track day before making any more changes.
I'll also be ordering some street wheels/rubber that are more traditional trans am and doing a custom cage. Not sure how extensive the cage will be yet. I need to have siome guys look at my seating position and propose some ideas. I'd like to still be able to drive the car on the steet with the cage, so I'm leaning towards a roll hoop with a x and crossbar for my belts.
