Personally -- I think it's "smart" to sell while these cars are "fresh" and haven't been seen by everybody. These kinds of builds take a huge "effort" in time and money - and many times the guys building them - have started a new project before the last one is even finished. They like the process more than the end result. I have a buddy that is like that - he's just into the whole process... but not into the actual "birth". Weird - but to each his own.
I have another buddy that is a boat dealer - very high end - at dinner the other night I finally had the guts to ask him how things were going... "I haven't sold a high end (million plus) boat in TWO YEARS"....
Many business owners are in this predicament - and while they may have chosen to finish out the project (the smart way) they may also want to recoup some of the expense while they still can.
Everybody is different - different circumstances... Some of these builds are 3 years plus - maybe the owner gets a bad illness during that time... who knows.
