Super Chevy gone
At one time Super Chevy was THE event to attend, with huge crowds and great cars that would travel from all over the country to participate. Over the years it diminished slowly and eventually became a joke of how few cars attended. Just pick up an issue of Super Chevy, look at the backrounds on any of the event coverage photos and see that it is almost a ghost town of cars and attendees. Indy was probably the largest attended event on the circuit of all the others I attended. What caused this? I can think of a number of reasons. Promotion? Cost (everything was extra it seemed)? Management? Who knows. I participated in the first Joliet event a number of years back , and was exited to have one locally. Sure the were a few glitches, but I returned the next year figuring they would get it ironed out. Nope. So I waited another year or two and returned. I couldnt even get into the track because of poor traffic management. I've gone there to NASCAR races and got in way quicker and way easier than the poorly attended Super Chevy Show. It was so bad to get in that I turned around and went home before even getting in! They have done it to themselves. So long Super Chevy. RIP
