The flare may very well be worn out on your hard line. I'd pull it apart and inspect the seat and flare.

Also on those flare fittings, you need to use a line wrench. Lot's of people try and use an open end wrench, and that tends to 'round' the hex part of the fitting off. Once this happens you can't really get them tight enough.....
Don't use teflon tape!
