I think it has about 300 Hp. My rear end has 2.75 gear ratio and the transmission is a TH400.

Use of my car will be mainly street.

What stall would you advise?
The duration of the cam and the rear axle ratio are the 2 biggest factors when chosing a converter stall speed. With a mild 400 and the gear you have now, 2000 stall max, but, if you decide to go with a mild cam of around 224-230 duration @ .050 and a rear gear between 3.42:1 and 3.73:1 ,then you will need a 2400-2800 stall converter. The cam specs here are mild so that you will still have a decent idle quality and the vacuum modulator on your trans will still function properly.

Good luck!!
Paul
