the stresses on the halfshafts from cornering are nothing compared to the load from the torque... just look at the u joint strength compared to a typical upper balljoint...

a c4 rear will install with a minimum of cutting, where as a c5/6 will require the removal of the floor above the rear to make room... yu will also need to modify the tunnel to make room for the transaxle,
