If you think about it.... that max # of 40 HP... would only come into play at higher RPMS -- wouldn't that also mean you have some serious velocity as well (expect in lower gears but you'd still be MOVING)... how much heat could be left under the hood when you're smoking down the track/road at speed?
I can see where at a stop you'd build up some underhood heat -- but it would seem to me that it would mostly go away as soon as you got up to 35 mph or so. Maybe I'm wrong (wouldn't be the first time).
