No.. that makes sense. I tried my 1x gear on a 1-bolt cam ant it fits, but the reference hole is bit loose, not sure that matters that much.
I wouldn't think the three holes would need to be filled.. will know more when I compare all the parts.
When the single bolt cam surprised us I din't evem think of the 4x gear.. my brain just saw the half moon shape and rolled with it..
