That's not carbon fiber's fault; it looks like poor design to me. It looks like they milled a critical mounting surface down to almost nothing. Beside losing critical mass, you would also be milling away a layer or so of fibers which ideally would be oriented to add structural integrity. Considering the possible legal implications, I would bet on the wheels to be properly designed. HRE isn't receiving shipments from the Far East are they?
