Personally I'm going the exact route you mentioned, aeromotive sump, stock tank. It seems like it will work better to control the fuel, and it's a lot cheaper.

The corvette regulator is something a lot of people use in swaps, it's extremely cheap and obviously a proven way of doing it.
Can you explain a little more about the corvette regulator??what year and details??
