Yeah, 1969-70 Mustang PT car would be THE ultimate for me. Here's how I'd build it....
1969-70 Mustang Fastback
- The new DOHC 5.0 cammer engine (from the Boy Racer car that for races) it produces 400 hp all motor I think. You'd also be able to retain the "BOSS 302" theme. Then pop on a Kenne Bell 2.5 blower that all fits under the hood nicely. I figure put just enough boost on it to produce 600-700 hp.
- Back that up with a built AODE and a Shrifter.
- Full coilover suspension setup at all four corners.
- Built 9" with a custom 4 link setup.
- Full Alcon brake system
- Interior - I'd design it and build it all custom with a modern/vintage look. Rear seat delete, roll cage, Racetech carbon kevlar front competition buckets.
Exterior Styling
- One off 18" wheels - again modern with a vintage feel. Not polished, and not chrome - very purposeful.
- Drip rails smoothed, and windshield and back glass should be flush mounted
- Front bumper either pushed in tighter to the body or molded in. Also, the clean Shelby front ends are pretty aggressive.
- Rear bumper would be shaved and molded to the back and body color - one clean look.
- More integrated lower front chin spoiler design - possibly some sort of splitter.
- The front and fenders would have the fender lips shaved off and the fenders pulled out 2" in the back and 1.5" in front to give the car a slight coke-bottle shape, super clean, sexy and wide!
- Custom ram air style hood of some kind where air could be rammed right into the blower. Air extracters would be styled in as well.
- I was thinking a bright copper or bronze metallic paint and probably black wheels.
Just the kind of direction I'd probably go if budget were no problem :-)
