Tell me about it... this happened to me too a few months ago. I always wear eye protection, but I think what happened is that a super small piece of metal got in behind my glasses and impregnated itself in my eye. At they doctor they put the weird drops in my eye and looked at it under a special light to find the irritant. The doc said at his office they didn't have an eye kit, which is basically a super small drill bit that they drill into the top layer of the eye to pull out the fragment... he was able to get it out without it though.
