I have done an ls1 in a 92 truck. It is very easy in a 2wd, you can use a f-body oil pan with street & performance brackets. I also used f-body accessory drive with street & performance a/c compressor relocator, although I would suugest someone else on that because I had to do multiple modifications to make the belt line up. Schoenfeld makes a nice set of headers that will work if you have a 2wd( not sure if they fit a 4wd), i actually used 99 f-body exhaust manifolds that fit great. The trans crossmember fits great with just a little elongation of the trans mount hole. I also used the stock driveshaft. Good luck.
