Whatever happened to that car Frank?
The stuff worked, just rode rough as hell. But was the very beginning of real Pro Touring. There was race cars with license plate, but G Machine handling was just starting to become popular. When I put those MONSTER 16s on that car, everyone told me I was crazy and they would not fit. If I remember right I reversed the fronts and rears and they fit perfect. I also bumped the tire sizes from 245s to REALLY BIG 255s!

As for what happened to the car I would really love to have it back actually. I kind of committed sacrilege and destroyed a 1 of 1 car. It started life as a really super clean 1980 Hugger Camaro of which they made 90. The Huggers came with 14" Minilite's (low profile 14s to lower the COG), some sway bars and shocks, Window straps, a A and A Air Dam, and a gawdy decal kit. About 70 of the cars were Hugger orange, the other 20 were a few different colors. All the cars had tan interior except one that had black interior. They made 6 black cars and one car black car with black interior, that also came with a ASC Power Moon Roof done at ASC before it was delivered to the dealer. That was the one I masqueraded, LOL!

I lost all my pics of the original car but it looked almost exactly like the car in the picture below I found on Google. It was gawdy as hell, but probably worth a few bucks today.

Being the way I am, I blew it apart, added a warmed over 383 with (Corvette aluminum heads!) Wow, that was the snaz! Muncie 4 speed, 3.73, 4 wheel disc from a WS6 Trans AM. I have always liked cars that still have original car hughes, but are modified. Purple was in and I did factory Z28 graphics in purple, had people scratching their heads how I did it. Was actually simple, just paint purple first, applied the decals, painted black, pulled the decals, and cleared the car.

Was pretty sharp in the day and won everywhere it went.

I sold it to buy a boat! Someone saw it in the magazine, I threw a crazy number at them, and they bite! The guy that bought it started drag racing it? Beat the hell out of it I heard, and someone supposedly bought it at the Turkey run for a 1/3 of what he paid 6 months later.

I miss it, it really is the car that got me started in this direction

Rocking the IROC 16s!

Black Hugger, not mine.
