Default HANS vs R3

I'm going to buy a helmet and a head & neck restraint system. I have used an R3 once before and it took a little getting used to but I'm sure I would be fine after a while. This was with off-road (desert) racing.

Seems the advantage of the Hans is you can put it on once you get in the car where the R3 you need to have on before getting in. I practiced entry/exit of the car (using an R3) and got more comfortable with time. Keep in mind this was a buggy that I had to climb up on top of and enter through the top of the roll cage.

The advantage of the R3 is it stays with your body so it is better if you are getting into different cars that don't have 4pt or more harness's.
A Hans needs to be ordered according to the inclination of a seat while an R3's angle is dictated by your back against a seat.

Do any of you guys have experience with either? I searched the forum and found little to no information. I will primarily use my restraint system for off-road racing but might use it for road-racing down the line if possible.

Thanks guys,
Dave

Here's a nice little read on the two:
