they should help. If you take the time to adjust them correctly and measure the bump correctly, the best way is with a bump gauge. and hope that you can get it adjusted before you have issues with the outer tir rod end and the rim.
the taper is a 1.5" per foot and the threads are 5/8 nf as you stated
