Well, it’s NOT simply to see how fast it can be done…that really serves no purpose in the end. What we ARE trying to do is to demonstrate how EASY it can be to build a car like this.
The 48 Hour Time frame makes live video possible. Even though the build (and live streaming content) will take place starting May 16th, there will be a entire series of detailed tech videos in full HD that will be released after the build is completed.
Between now and then, there will be all the decisions that folks need to make during a build like this... and that too will be published for folks to follow along.
Everyone who has ever turned a wrench on a project knows there are times of frustration when it seems like things aren't going to work they way you want them to. Having more $$ to dump into the project doesn't make these things go away. It takes experience, know-how, and the right combination of parts.
The purpose of the 48 Hour Camaro project is to get some of the top product manufactures together and show how "easy" it is to transform a car with their products and most importantly - provide tech straight from the source on how to avoid getting into those positions that can cause a project to run-a-ground.
