well suprisingly its a fairly heavy truck. even with the pieces im lightening up, it still will weigh roughly between 3700 and 3800 lbs, and thats going to be close to 4000 with me driving actually the LT1 alone will not make to much difference to the overall weight of the truck. as I'm sure most of you already know, the 4.3 is a sister engine to the 5.7 (minus 2 cylinders). so minus some weight of the engine, but added weight of the beefier front suspension and drivetrain pieces, I'd say the difference will be between 75 to 100lbs from stock. but im going to get the final weight of the truck after its finished.
oh and to let you guys know...in stock trim back in 1999 I ran the truck at the track, ya know for sh!ts and giggles...hahaha 18.07...I need to find the slip to see what the actual speed was i want to say it was around 72mph, but that was almost 6 years ago so... could be wrong. so Im really hoping to make some REAL improvements. the goal is low 13s, and an actual ability to take a turn(used to get light on the passenger side at 48mph hitting the onramps of I-57) eventually. haha well see.
