The reason some guys will run the 3rd link to one side or the other is for bite. On my Outlaw latemodel I run my 3rd link as far to the left as possible because it helps make bite off the corner by planting the LR tire much harder. Alot of chassis builders have actually made the 3rd link mount on the chassis wider to accomplish this. By moving it to one side it makes bite because it will have more leverage and a larger affect on the tire that it is nearest.
