Because powder coating can also chip, you might want to take into account which is easier to fix. If you're worried about chips you can always put a clear bra wrap on the bumper.

I agree on the fixing thing. I have a harley that i have blacked out with powder coat. It has chips and scratches all over. Only way to fix it is have it blasted and re-powder coated. I want my bumpers black, so i have thought about using some tuff chassis epoxy that will be easier to touch up because it will chip no matter what you use.
