On our way to SEMA in '09 - we had 4 guys in two BMW's - an M5 and an M6...

Yes we went on the most back roads we could find - and we hauled booty.... My buddy gets a ticket for 104.... and when we settle into our rooms in LV we had a little chat about this. I said he should call the county and ask about what he could do to reduce any points his license would be charged with etc. Said that I had gotten a ticket in California - and they allowed you to plead guilty and pay the full fine - but you could also take an on-line driving course and that would automatically reduce the points assigned. To me - it's not the fine - it's the insurance.

Long and short of the story - the county tells him if he's willing to pay the fine in full ($400+) they would reduce his ticket to "equipment failure". The gal told him straight out - that they really need the revenue, so agreeing to pay the full fine was what they were interested in.
