Bossanova,
All the window trim (and I mean ALL of it) was sent to George Lucas of http://www.glmetalpolishing.com/. George repaired any and all dents and straightened all the pieces before sanding them down with 180 grit. He then puts a red scotchbrite pad on the polishing wheel and meticulously preps each piece. They come out with a smooth yet clean texture for the Powdercoat to adhere too. We had a few pieces that gave us a gard time during assembly and the powder never chipped or became scratched.
As far as the 1/4 windows.... (if you are refering to Vent Windows), they were fairly easy to dissassemble. You NEED to be patient as a few pieces are pretty stubborn from 40+ years of grime. I found the following link to be very informative for taking these apart:
