17x11 with 6" backspace will not work unless you keep the rear high. You will also have issues with rubbing your inside panel when entering driveways at an angle.
17x9.5 with 5.5" back space works best without mini-tubbing.
I just mocked up an 18x10.5 vette wheel with a 325 that will be just as wide as my Toyo 315's and I had to custom mini-tub 1 1/2"s on each side. This left me with 1/2" clearance to the un-relocated leaf spring and about the same to the quarter panel with rolled lips. Backspacing on the wheel was 8" and I added a 1 1/2" hubcentric spacer so that makes it 6 1/2" back space with mini-tubs.
