Thought I should seek some input before I do something I'll regret. I tried using my press (20-ton) but all I did was bend the 1/2" angle I setup to get under the bearing. I know a lot of folks use a cutoff wheel - do I cut the outer bearing race first, remove guts and then cut the retainer and inner bearing race? I imagine one cuts perpendicular and axial to the axle shaft? Once there is a cut most of the way through use a cold chisel to knock it off. Do you put the chisel into the cut to force it apart? I assume one doesn't want to cut into the axle but the critical surface is just above the retainer where the machined surface is slightly smaller in diameter - where the inner seal meets the axle correct? Thanks. -Bob
