Well --- Lean is different these days than it used to be --- the new motors run quite lean in idle and cruise mode.... but they have knock sensors etc to help and the computer to pull timing out blah blah blah....
My 8 stack runs 13:8 at idle -- 14:0 at cruise -- and 12:8 for WOT
You generally are not going to hurt the motor with a leaned out idle or cruise A/F.... it's that WOT and "under load" that needs to have attention paid to it...
