since I dont have a narrowed tank , I am limited to the size . If i had a custom narrowed tank I would have a much better chance of getting away with more room without the leafs also , that would make for the most room . or even better a fuel tank in the trunk , I personally am no fan of fuel cells in the trunk .

Putting a fuel cell in was an advantage, but, I would never do it again. My tips reveal is about 1/8"-3/16" away from the paint. I don't think that the tips will get hot enough to damage the paint. I was warned by others not to run them totally flush though. This because of the exhaust itself, and the fear of carbon deposits forming on the paint. I wasn't too worried so I went against the warnings and did it anyway. I didn't want to compromise the look. I figured it would be an easy fix if it did happen. I think you will be fine. Keep us updated.
