I'm not familiar with the diameters that 295's come in but I like to run a 26" diameter tire. 315/30's and 275/40's both come in near to that diameter in 17's and 18" wheels. 295 is a good size to shoot for up front but IMO you want to be sure the rear tire is the same or close to the same diameter.
