Not a 70 chevelle, but I can tell you what I did for my 67 camaro because I was paranoid about rust and about body shift while cutting this stuff out. I built a jig /crate that I could roll the car around on that had the factoring mounting points to spec to keep the body square. I put the car on it and put bracing in across the dash section and the door section. I then cut out the floor pan and replaced it. I wanted to get the floor solid and done before I cut the quarterpanels off in case the body began shifting. Once I had the floor done, I cut teh quarters off and replaced the inner and outer tubs with DSE mini tubs and put the quarters on as well. Hope this helps
