I actually have a 343/T5 combo in my '69 Javelin. It's not as fast as I would like it to be, but it is a very nice combo to live with day to day.
This is my first over drive trans in an older car and it is amazing how nice it is rolling down the freeway at 70+ mph.
This fall I'll be tearing into my old (but new to me
) Gremlin road racer.
