We have a growing market for almost every classic american car here. The main problem with classic cars is originality. You know, we pay tax per cu.in. here. The more You have under the hood, the more You pay. That becomes more worse if You dont get into the the newest emission laws.
If You have an original car over 30 years old You can get it registered as historic vehicle and pay only little taxes.
All modifications must be the same which could be done at least 25 years ago. So no chance for LS motors, fancy aluminum rims and so on...
We have also a lot of newer model pick ups here due to the possibility to register them as truck which pay lower taxes as well.
There is a market for classic german, british, italian....we love cars the same as You guys over there! But i, personally, dont like many of them. Especially classic german car owners. They dont like anything but their cars, dont like modifications, dont like anybody... I expect that You have this kind of people in the states also...
