Not a 427 -- I don't like that combo.... been there done that. Just not enough piston for a street driven motor. But a nice 406 would give it a bit more 'arm'... not that it needs it. The 383 in there now makes 455 #'s of TQ at 4000 rpms and I'm guessing the car only weighs 2200/2300 #'s. 4:30 rear gears - TKO 5 speed.... it's pretty "responsive". I just like the way the 408 in the Nomad runs... with the "honda" rod journal size crank and lightweight reciprocating bottom end -- that motor is super snappy/happy...

Funny -- you never get to really hear - or feel - or experience YOUR car except in the drivers seat. Since I have Rudy's (my BIL) Camaro torn apart... I loaned them my Nomad (don't want him to have show withdrawal). And I'm now in the crowd etc or around when he fires it off and cruises away. That motor is bad azz... it rattles windows... sounds like a big block... yet is smooth (not lumpy cammed). You can be a block away and when it fires off - I know it's my car. The ground rumbles.
