Well.... Got the car!
We went from Montreal to Quebec city ('bout 3.5 hour ride each way) and we got chased by ''IRENE'' on the way back!!! Man i was thinking about Wayne all the way lol!!! (WainieZ member on here that was supposed top get his car at Mikes Custom but postponed due to Same IRENE condition).
Anyway, i tought you guy's would like to see it, it has parts you have already seen lol! But my friend really started a killer project... There are so many small details ant attention to them it takes time to sink em all in. For an amateur (as in garage built) its something...
It has a completely built front clip (off Morrisson GT sport sub specs) and using a C6 crossmember and suspension hung from Qa1 coilovers.It also has a very nice splined sway bar.
The frame connectors are out of view and of way being ripp offs (lol!) of the late (not wayne due the other company, cant remember just now, they did IRS for first gens...come on brain come on, i'll remember) and they follow the rocker panel (inner side along the pinch weld) and attach on the sides of the front and rear subframes, real nice.
The front sub attaches at original mounting locations and instead of being welded and not removeable, its bolted per its sides to the frame connectors whom come to meet it on each of its side (2 big bolts on each side solidly add retaining force the holes are sleeved and everything is welded and shaved to a clean install. I tought it was a very nice set up, i usually always want to weld everything but yeah, cant remove it afterwards, i thing this is a very nice compromise and its really solid and reduces flex a lot...
The rear is the same, it is built off a set of (cut and modded of course lol!) CE rails. The suspension set up is a 3 link with panhard bar and is also hung off coil overs. There is a big anty sway bar up top and it has a killer look as well as a complete adjustability. The nice part being custom made is that he built it to lay soooooo low and has a ton of adjustment while not protruding inside the habitacle.
The rest is a bran new body (full 1/4's, complete doors, composite fenders, header panel, valence, tail panel, 2 inch cowl hood...name it.)
Wheels are my old (still yet to turn a mile on the road lol!!!!) ZX3p Forgeline's in 19x 9 and 20 x 13 w/345's and my (same age and story) Z-06 Brake set up at 14 and 13 inch front and rr rotors.
Car is mostly complete parts wise and basically needs some finish, paint and assembly.
I tought i would buy it, strip it of what i wanted to Pro Tour mine and flip it but the more i look at it the more i realize he did such an awesome job it deserves to be done well and finished.....Dammit!!!
I have the T56 and 6.0 sitting in it and i'm taking them out also.
I'll see. I started to think of maybe finishing the season with mine and selling it off and start on the coupe... I guess i like building them more tahn riding them !!!
Enough of my ongoing typing...onto the fun stuff;
