Everything happens for a reason. We ended up sharing the message of the car with the clerk at the station that it coasted to. With tears in her eyes she said that maybe it broke down just so we would stop and talk to her. I guess that makes it all worth it and it was a simple fix.
The car broke on very nice and was just smooth and slick the rest of the way.
