Thanks for your comments, Greg. Its less about about traction and more about getting rid of the weakest link in the equation. My tired non-posi 10 bolt just sticks out since I'm replacing everything else.

Absolutly, in fact floating hubs have been used in racing applications for over 25 years so they are well proven. They are only just starting to catch on in street use but will work just fine. Many rear disk brake options so you will need to do some reasearch there.
