Unimatic, yes the handle is too high.....i 'm not sure if the handle is from metal or alloy.
But after searching i think i'm gonna do as you said , cut at the base and reweld it. (sectionning).
Mark, i went to see Serge who bought your Nova and had a ride in it.....very nice car ! Just the strange noise from inside the engine is very annoying
Serge is gonna have a look at it and search where the problem is.
