Vince is prob right, but on my 9" rear/31 spline it did fit right over the axle. Also, before you pop out the axles, measure the housing end template against your bearing retainer backing plate.
3.562" x 2" with a 3.150 diameter x 1/8" deep pocket for the bearing:

Further, use the T-bolts or the supplied bolt heads won't clear the axle tube...
