I have an aeromotive sump and I put it in the back of the tank. I think even drag racers put it there because as you accelerate the gas will move to the back. Putting it at the front seems like asking for trouble as it will hang down so far.
If you use that sump, I'd make sure to install it at least so it's about flush with the lowest part of the tank. In the section picture imagine where the gas would be at 1/4 tank (or maybe even higher), it's probably in the lower area nowhere near the sump.
I think that with that particular sump you're likely to have some issues when braking or turning without a full tank. I went with the Aeromotive sump, it required cutting into my tank and more welding but it was clearly superior if you intend to let your tank drop below 1/2 tank or turn a corner.
