I have moved the engine into the firewall 5". The v10 and the old 390 are the same length if you include the waterpumps. My number 1 cyl. is roughly on the the axle centerline. I am tall also but will still have lots of room for my legs, but I probably have 8" more of wheel base than you. The rect. stuff is 2x3 or 2x4 with .120 wall. The lower main rails are 1.5" round with .120 wall and the uppers are 1.5"rd with.065 wall. The small rd tubes are 1" x.065 wall
The rd tubes by the eng/firewall are 1.5" x .120 wall. The front frame rails will get a few diagonals yet. Tonight I bagan cutting out the rear floor above the diff. I have to raise the tubs and rails about 2.5" . Then that will tie into the rear of the tunnel tubes. This car will not be getting a cage or rollbar since I want to be able to use the rear seat. I will put bolt in pads for a removeable rollbar.
What are you reworking on your project. Are there any recent pics?
