Jeff, do what John said, but then get yourself some SPRAYWAY glass cleaner and go over the whole panel. Sprayway leaves no residue and is a good cleaner in itself. Sprayway can be found at Sam's Club and ACE Hardware.

I would not suggest the OER interior paint.

Search the internet for SEM Landau Black (15013) paint (some refer to it as a dye) and SEM Plastic/Leather Prep (38353) which softens the surface somewhat and acts like a primer as well. I have had great success with these products and they are widely know on a lot of car sites. Use light coats and build up from there with the Landau Black.
