Im not sure closely you followed the story. The rule is .005 grams per liter, this is an FIM rule that the AMA adopted. This is suppose to let privateers run pump gas.But infact some parts of the country they use .013 grams per liter at the pump. The rule for the privateer to get affordable gas via the pump is gone. The crazy part is .017(rickys level) amounts to 1/8 of an ounce of lead in a 55 gallon drum!Four strokes do not run better from lead if you want to cheat you run oxygen and there oxygen was the lowest of all bikes tested. Most 450 Bikes are detuned to run cooler power is not an issue.
As for CR,DV,JBS and Michael Byrne none of those affected a championship.I know that doesn't make it okay but it was a bs rule then and a bs rule now.The offical word from the yamaha and Kawasaki tests was the drum was sealed with lead and it seaped in the gas.
The one thing in commen with all the tests was VP fuels.

I am no fuel expert i just followed it real closely and relayed it the best I could. The AMA blows......
