I've got that same transmission in my Mustang. Everytime I jack that car up with the car in gear, and I can spin the tire a 1/4 of a turn back and forth, I think of how hard autoxing must be on those parts, and how the constant on and off of the throttle must stress the gears.
Apparently they are not indestructable, if you don't mind me asking Brian did it give any warning?, or just go into self destruct. I know its hard to tell with those transmissions because they are so noisey anyway. I have heard they are freshen it regularly whether it needs it or not parts.
