It may be from the chassis twisting that caused that center section to break. The bracing and brackets come from kugel with the rear end to weld to the chassis. Kugel should of figured out if its strong enough. They have sold a few of those rears, however no one has probably driven it like Greg. The center section would have to be pretty thin wall material if the grinding, sanding, and polishing made it weaker.
