Well i took a Porsche PS2 tire, 295/35/19 and stuffed it under my car in the rear and it does fit but the custom rims will need to be SPOT on perfect to not hit anything. I measured everything up.
I like the 18 tire sidewall look but coming from the custom modern car scene one has to consider new modern cars have much rounder and larger wheel openings where all Mustangs and Camaros of yesteryear do not.
based off photos some 18 rims look awesome on the 69-70 Stangs and some look horrible, 19 will look great for visual impact no doubt but the rubber band sidewall isnt what i want for a 43 year old car, i already have that on my Porsche and CTS-V
if i keep 18 i can keep my current tires and when the rears burn up go a bit wider on the rubber, if i go 19 it will add $1500 for more rubber
i just want to make best choice first time around considering the cost of custom wheels for these cars.
