Here's a potential candidate, the centerforce DYAD. I recieved a pm from a member about a month ago asking me for feedback on the DYAD. I dont have a lot of miles on it. Here is my feedback so far.
The clutch is awesome, pedal effort is slightly tougher than my stock ls7 clutch but that thing was a feather. There almost the same. Off idle it comes out with no chatter, its a tad bit more grabby but a bit more rpm and its very smooth. I have a tendancy to be lazy when loafing around town, so its more my driving style, to use to driving my wifes powerless mini cooper. I run a 3.90 gear so first is very low and helps get the car out easy. This all using a Ram bearing, if you use this design make sure the guide pin is not to long that it hits the pressure plate diaghram and counter weights. I got to tell you, I agonized with the decision to remove the charm bracelet they put on the pressure plate. Those little weights look like a disaster waiting to happen, but after spending 1500 bucks on that thing I couldn't do it. The install is cake, its very well marked so you cant screw up the order of assembly, very well packaged and comes with a dyno sheet, ARP bolts and a centerforce sfi specific flywheel. Use red loctite on flywheel bolts and blue on pressure plate bolts That thing can hold 1300 ftlbs. More than I will ever have in front of it, the nice thing is if I want to go to island dragway with my son for a little grudge match racing, I dont have to worry about glazing it. should be able to throw anything at it, I like the piece of mind. The DYAD is a really nice design, theres not a lot of miles logged on them so that could be a con, I think The one lap car is doing the big one lap race with a DYAD so look for feedback on it. I contimplated an ls9 but when I heard a belhousing spacer was required it turned me off, and then need to send my drive shaft for shortening, although its also a serious consideration. Good luck, keep us posted, hope this helps. Rich
I weighed both set ups with the flywheels the centerforce was lighter cant remember the exact weight but it was around 5 lubs.
Pretty surprised at how smooth it is.
