Okay - but still the same -- if the noise goes away when you disconnect the pcv hose.... then the noise you're hearing is the engine trying to suck air in "somewhere" wherever it can get it from!

A pcv is nothing more than a "controlled vacuum leak" --- It's VACUUM --- but has to have a corresponding air intake somewhere.... or it's just going to create vacuum until it pulls thru somewhere. Thus the whistling.

I don't know where on an LS engine the breather side of that PCV is or I'd tell ya where to look.

Maybe a quickie google search or some one that's familiar with this engines will chime in.
