It all depends on budget. Suspension and brakes will take more effort or cost more because the car is unique. I would say start by researching your options there and do the suspension and brakes first.
A stock FI 5.0 and T5 or tremec is a cheap date to get a V8 drivetrain in place and sorted. It will be faster than your stock suspension and brakes can deal with.
A big motor also require big cooling, trans,clutch, driveshaft, rear end ect so once you start the hp war you start the war on your wallet.
JMO opinion but you can never have brakes or handling that are too much for your motor but you can definitely have a motor that is too much for the rest of the car.
