I'd build one that is big enough. Between water evopration, liner maintenence, chemicals, and don't forget keeping it clean, they can be a real pain in the ass. I'd definitely put a large flat shallow area where people can set in low rise lawn chairs and an umbrella. When mine needs redone, I"m going to add that feature.

With all that said, they are worth the trouble. Especially in Vegas! Jumping in the pool commando beats a cup of coffee anyday.
