Ultimately you are correct, but with the vast knowledgebase and good taste of most of the people here, it's a great sounding board. Tastes vary, but as in the case of the poll for the hood, the ratio was about 50:1. That sends a pretty strong signal - that I probably would not have been happy after it was too late...
But it's all good. The people on this site bring up tons of good points and new information with each thread.
